Simba will be under pressure to bounce back to winning form in the NBC Premier League  when they take on hosts Coastal Union at Mkwakwani Stadium on Saturday, kick-off at 6PM.

The title race is not yet over in the NBC Premier League but analysis shows there can be no more dropped points for the teams chasing Young Africans.

Abdelhak Benchikha’s side dropped further behind in the title race as they suffered a shocking  league loss when they were beaten 2-1 by a ten-man Tanzania Prisons side on Wednesday at Jamhuri Stadium, Morogoro.

The results leave them seven points adrift of defending champions Young Africans. With 14 games left to play in the NBC Premier League, Simba are running out of time if they plan to overthrow Young Africans at the end of the season.

Next in line is an away match against Wagosi wa Kaya, a side that they have dominated in past encounters, winning 14 times, losing just once and drawing six in the 21 previous league meetings between them.

If the Msimbazi Reds pick up a positive result in Tanga, they will extend their unbeaten away league run  to 21 matches. They have claimed 13 points from eight away matches this season, with their last result on the road a 1-0 win at Chippa United earlier this month.

Benchikha is unavailable on the touchline after traveling back home in ALgeria to attend a refreshers coaching course. His assistants Seleman Matola and Farid Zemit will take  charge of the game.

As for Coastal Union, this is unquestionably their best season in recent years in the league. There is now a genuine chance of the club getting into the CAF Confederation Cup for next season, should form continue for them.

They hold the title chasing Azam to a 1-1 draw last time out after losing 1-0 to hosts Tabora United in the previous game. As a result they managed to hold on to their fourth spot for one more round of matches.

Wagosi wa Kaya’s home form this season has seen them pick up five wins, two draws and two defeats in nine games for a haul of 17 points as hosts. They have won all their four recent games at Mkwakwani under head coach David Ouma.

Coastal Union’s defensive stats are also hugely impressive, with trends showing that Ouma’s side have kept six clean sheets in their last 10 league encounters.

Coach Ouma has no new injury issues. He will have a full list of first-team players available to pick from.
